Unlike other cats, the tiger loves water. It is a good swimmer and loves to bathe in rivers. During the summer months when heat can be intolerable and there is no nearby river to frolic around, the tiger is often seen with its mouth open and with its dry tongue hanging. In this way, it tries to cool down.
