Here's my first attempt to try still life in photography. I think still life provides an amateur photographer a chance to hone his skills in matching form, substance, and colors. Also, it does not require interaction with your subject(s), and as such, I can easily manipulate whatever I want my picture to become.

A good start, I would say. But I am not an avid photographer. Realistic is the first description that comes to mind.
